Dental questions
Our gums and tongue serve as indicators of our general condition. If your gums have been bleeding for quite some time, contact your dentist, he/she can help to terminate the issue.
Most common causes:
- Bacteria on the edges of a poor dental prosthesis
- Plaque, improper dental hygienic habits
- Crooked or mal-positioned teeth
- Stress
- Mechanical damage trauma to the gum (toothpick, wrong toothbrush, constant irritation by wrong crown or filling, etc.)
- Bad overall condition (tumor, diabetes)
- Smoking, alcohol consumption
- Stomach or bowel disease
- Pregnancy or any hormonal changes in women
- Bleeding disorders
- vitamin deficiency (C, K)
It is important to learn how to properly brush your teeth. Your dentist/dental hygienist can give you directions. It is recommended to use a soft brush, only until the hairs of the bristle are diagonal before disposal.
Regarding toothpaste, you should get one that contains fluorine. If dental hygiene is still insufficient despite trying your best it is advised to get plaque paint. It colors the plaque on your teeth indicating the areas you should focus on.
It varies individually but it is recommended to visit your dentist every 6 months. If you have an implant, you have to get it checked once a year otherwise its warranty is void.
No. We use substances regulated by the EU, these are not health concerns.
Under usual circumstances, it is painless because we apply local anesthesia.
In case of inflammation minimal pain might be experienced that is preventable (depending on the severity of the inflammation) by antibiotics before the removal.
No. Alcohol causes plethora which makes bleeding more intense and despite being commonly believed to be antiseptic, it actually is not. Instructions given by your doctor should be kept at all times.
If necessary, yes.
Not under any circumstances. Surgeries take place while the patient is in deep general anesthesia and the process is being monitored by professionals.
It doesn’t. The surgery takes place under local anesthesia. It is important to note that implants cannot be put into inflamed bone.
No. The implant is put in the bone so it is invisible and you can't feel it with your tongue, either.
In order to preserve your healthy teeth we recommend you choosing implantation of artificial roots.
Only going to dental checkups regularly can tell the condition of prostheses. An X-ray image is necessary. With regular checkups and proper dental care you can extend the lifespan of your prosthesis remarkably.
- It is advised to cool the wound for 24 hours with ice gel.
- After surgery you must not eat until feeling of numbness is present.
- After tooth removal, bite hard on the dental tampon for 10 minutes then remove and dispose it.
- If it bleeds again bite on another tampon and apply pressure on the bleeding area.
- On the day of the surgery you must not rinse or spit (in case of bone replacement, it is not advised later, either).
- An hour after taking antibiotics, it is advised to take Normafolre, too.
- Recommended post-surgery medication: Donalgin (painkiller) 3x1, arnica montana 3x5, bella donna 3x5, ruta graveolis 5x5,Calcium 3x1, gengigel 5x.
- You have to brush your teeth on the day of the surgery, too. The wound has to be cleaned daily from the day after the surgery.
- For a week after surgery it is advised to use mouth rinse that contains chlorhexidine (Curasept, Chlorhexamed) and also to clean the stiches in the mouth after every meal. It minimizes the chance of bacteria-induced inflammation.
- You must not do sports or do any heavy lifting within 4-5 after the surgery unless you have discussed it with your dentist.
- After surgery on the upper jaw, try to avoid blowing your nose. If possible, do not sneeze, either or if you can't hold it back, sneeze with your mouth open.
- Be advised: if you drink alcohol on the day of the surgery, it can cause local plethora around the wound therefore you might experience an intense throbbing of the wound.
- If the surgery is proceeded by strong pain, swelling or fever, contact your doctor as soon as possible.
Questions about traditional Chinese medicine
It is unpleasant when they stick you with a needle. Most patients report radiating feelings of pressure, tingling of the target area.
TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) is several thousands of years old. It is said to be mentioned in documents as old as 4000 years. The Yellow Emperor's (2698-2596 B.C. ) internal books are considered to be the first written documentation of TCM. Even today, its effectiveness is the subject of many studies.
Its mechanism is based on the electric properties of the human body, namely the connective tissue's information system and the local systemic hormones, endogenous opioids and neurotransmitters that are released during the therapy, and their effect on the autonomic nervous system and the immune system.
This varies individually. It depends on the diseased condition. If the disease has been around for a while, a longer treatment is needed. If it isn't, a shorter therapy should achieve the desired results.
It is a therapy that is several thousands of years old and has always been part of Hungary's traditional remedies. Its primary goal is to remove roughage. The essence of this therapy is suction which is usually created by the use of glasses or little bell shaped glass tools made specifically for this purpose. This is how Hippocrates summarized the essence of the treatment: "it frees up energy paths, channels toxic energies, bad blood, roughage, harmful winds, stimulates blood-forming organs and restores yin-yang balance in the body."
We rarely treat pregnant women and children with a needle. For them, we recommend alternative therapies of TCM. Treatment of patients with serious or terminal diseases (cancer, final stage of diseases) is also contraindicated.
Yes but instead of acupuncture we recommend laser acupuncture or acupressure.
If only it was that easy! To fight addictions, the patient must be determined. For example, if you smoke, ear acupuncture helps to defeat craving for nicotine and reduces stress.
Yes it is possible to use needles made of gold.
TCM can help fighting phobias. If our patient comes to us with a different problem, we recommend another alternative treatment instead of acupuncture.
