Chronic pathological problems with capillaries and nerves in the tooth canal system often cause a lot of pain.
In other cases however, the necrosed dental pulp causes inflammation in the bone surrounding the root of the tooth. This can also cause pain, in certain cases even fever or swelling of the face, but a completely symptom-free condition can develop, as well. In this case the problem is only revealed on X-ray images or CT scans.
These chronic inflammations are dangerous because they can cause secondary diseases in other organs that have capillaries, such as the kidneys, skin, eyes, endocardium or the joints. Endodontics focuses on this type of modification and also closure and internal whitening of teeth.
